SHIFT 5.0 is a Horizon Europe project that aims to accelerate the transition towards a more human-centric, sustainable and resilient European industry by experimenting with new systemic approaches to Industry 5.0.
The project addresses key challenges such as the skills gap, talent attraction, organisational and governance rigidities, and fragmented value chains, by developing and testing combinations of incentives, enabling technologies, organisational models and skills development pathways. Through six Regional Transformation Nodes and mission-oriented sandboxes, SHIFT 5.0 will test these solutions in real-world regional contexts, supporting up to 12 SME-led pilots through almost €1 million in cascade funding. The results will also be translated into training and learning pathways through the SHIFT Academy, as well as policy and knowledge tools and regional and European roadmaps, supporting the replication and uptake of the solutions across Europe.

The role of NSBproject
NSBproject is the lead beneficiary of WP9 – Foundation & Early Engagement and WP10 – Uptake and Outreach, playing a central role in the project’s communication, dissemination and exploitation activities. NSBproject contributes to the project’s visibility and positioning, stakeholder engagement, the identification and valorisation of Key Exploitable Results, and the definition and implementation of uptake, exploitation and market adoption pathways. Its activities include developing communication and dissemination strategies, promoting validated results, and implementing outreach activities targeting European ecosystems, helping to translate the project’s experimental results into uptake and systemic impact.
