On April 3, 2025, Brussels hosted the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) Info Day 2025, a prominent event that brought together key stakeholders from across Europe’s bioeconomy sector.
CBE JU is a public-private partnership between the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC). Its primary mission is to accelerate the market adoption of bio-based solutions, aligning with the EU Green Deal and supporting the transition to a circular, climate-neutral economy. Through funding and backing for R&D initiatives, CBE JU promotes collaboration between research institutions, industries, and policymakers, driving sustainable innovation across Europe.
The Info Day served as an invaluable platform for exploring funding opportunities, connecting with leaders, researchers, and policymakers, and exchanging knowledge on advanced bio-based materials, technologies, and policies.
As an active partner in the POLYMERS-5B project, NSBproject contributed to discussions on sustainable polymer solutions and the role of bio-based materials in the circular economy. The CBE JU Info Day 2025 event offered a platform to explore funding opportunities, connect with industry leaders, and exchange knowledge on advanced bio-based materials and technologies. Our participation at the event strengthened our network within the European bio-based community, showcasing the potential of POLYMERS-5B in developing next-generation sustainable polymer solutions.
Together with our project partners from the Faculty of Technology Novi Sad (University of Novi Sad) and the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry, we highlighted our collective efforts in advancing bio-based innovation.
The NSBproject team remains committed to promoting bio-based innovation and developing sustainable materials within the CBE JU and is ready to build new consortia for successful proposals to be submitted by 18 September 2025.
