SENSOR4FOOD officially got underway last week, as the project consortium gathered in Turku, Finland, for its inaugural Kick-Off Meeting… the starting point for a journey towards a smarter, safer and more sustainable poultry value chain.
Over two intensive days, partners from across Europe came together to unpack the project’s objectives, work packages and upcoming activities, align on priorities and iron out open questions ahead of moving from planning into action.
Simona Aceto and Andrea Jester represented NSBproject at the meeting, taking an active part in the discussions and collaborative sessions that shaped the project’s shared vision and set out the next steps for accelerating the deployment of advanced photonic sensing technologies and AI-driven solutions, innovations poised to boost food safety, product quality, animal welfare, traceability and sustainability across the poultry sector.
The final day took the group out of the meeting room and into the Finnish countryside, with a visit to Herrankukkaro. Beyond the chance to enjoy the surrounding forests and nature, it was a valuable opportunity to get to know the people behind the project a little better.
